It's been a very long time since i last posted on here, i suppose i never really got into it. But watching Marly and Me (again) has inspired me to try and make some more time to write. We'll have to just wait and see how long this lasts.
So much has happened since i last posted, i really don't know where i should begin. I guess i should start with Cardiff. I'm now coming up to the end of my first year in university, deadlines are coming up quickly and exams are on the horizon. I'm feeling fairly relaxed about them at the moment, but i'm sure the panic will kick in in a few weeks. I've made some great friends here and had so many great memories already. From our endless days (and nights) of playing Mario Kart to the joys of fake Christmas. I know i'm really going to miss our flat next year, it'll be strange not to have our 5am chats and waking up to half dead faces but i'm really excited about what's to come. It'll be great to have our own space, with the emphasis being on space! Finally we'll have more than a shoebox to live in and maybe we'll be able to breath out at the same time.
Things in Cardiff started off kinda slow. With Katie being ill and me falling into somekind of rut, i didn't really do anything with my time. I guess i was just settling in, getting to know everyone in the flat and get to grips with my course. But in this new year i've had lots more to do. Me and Katie have had a great weekend in Bath, we've been to the cinema a fair amount, we went to Amsterdam with Pete and Emma and have been to see productions of ''To Kill a Mockingbird" and most recently "The Death of a Salesman". On top of this for the last 5 weeks i've been training for the Sport Relief run. It's felt great to get back into training, i always feel like it motivates me in other parts of my life. Anyway the run, though it was only 6miles long, has inspired me to take part in the Cardiff half-marathon, which is in october (I think).
This week, Pete came to visit me and Katie at home. We had a great time, firstly in St Fagans and then back in Llandeilo. We found new levels to Pete's stupidity. We managed to convince him that a hill was somebodies house. I bet if we told him to sit and wait for the Teletubbies to come out, he would have just sat there happily enough for hours. I really don't know how he is so easy to wind up. Let's face it, he's practically an infant.
Coming back has brough mixed emotions. It's been great to see all the family I've left behind but i came back to mind my Mum has been admitted to hospital. We don't know what's wrong, the tests aren't back. It doesn't seem too serious but not knowing what it is is worrying. I'm sure she'll be fine but until we know for sure i'm bought to worry. So for now i'm looking after my sisters, taking them for walks and stuff. Katie's been helping me out lots. I don't know how i'd do it all without her. She's been amazing as usual.
There is so much more i could say, but i won't. I feel like it's dragged on enough. And anyway my attention span is screaming at me to stop and instead find some way to cause trouble. I'll do my best to make this a regular thing. Maybe i could try and post once a week, I'll try to avoid these 7 month gaps anyway.

"I had enough of socialism in the USSR."
President Obama has been clear on his aims on health care from the very start of his campaign. He's said that he plans to introduce a system where all Americans will have affordable health care available to them. As it stands the average American struggles to pay from treatment unless they have health insurance. At present a huge 46 million people are uninsured, with 26 million under-insured. I'm finding it very difficult to understand why there are so many people so against his proposals. You would think that the morality of the Masses with insurance or the capital to afford health care, would let them see that a system which denies so many people is far from fair.
The main changes to the system for those with insurance are that:
1) It will be illegal for insurance companies to deny you coverage due to a preexisting condition.
2) It will be against the law for insurance companies to drop your coverage when you get sick, or water it down.
3) No more cap on the amount you can claim in a given year, or even lifetime.
4) Companies will have to pay out for routine checks to catch serious illnesses before they take hold.
For those without:
1) Those without insurance will be offered low cost cover from a Market where competition will keep prices low.
2) Those with long term medical conditions will be provided with cover to keep them away from financial ruin (One of McCain's campaign proposals)
From listening to Obama's speech to Congress it would seem that the main aim for this plan is to stop insurance companies from exploiting people. It would lower the cost of insurance and increase the cover available to people who need it.
In return to those who claim the Plan would push America into more debt and destroy them economically, Obama Claims he will not sign a Bill which puts anymore pressure on the taxpayer or that will add to their deficit. This claim is backed up by a clause which assures that cuts will be made if savings are not produced. Obama goes on to criticise the current system for it's waste and for expenses that don't improve people's health.

I'm really struggling to see why the 'right' supporters are so concerned. It doesn't seem to be anywhere near as socialist as their making. The criticisms seem to be a last grasp hope of preserving an individualist America

A Geography/Sociology Lesson by Paul Wilkinson
Uk girls are worst drunks in the industrial world! Woooo finally something else that we, as a nation are world leaders in. We can put this trophy right next to 'highest rate of teenage pregnancy' and Cycling in a circle!
I decided to look at how other countries measured up (yeah that's what I do) It turns out Turkey has the highest rate of bullying. But it's not all bad for them, they do apparently have the best school meals....I'm seeing the connection....Good Food = Fatties and Fatties = Bullying. Now in Britain, there seems to be a lot more effort in getting better school meals. This is obviously a bad idea. Solution, Tell Jamie Oliver to FUCK OFF back to Middle Earth. The down syndrome, Ork looking Cunt.
Belgium apparently enjoy school least. Which is hardly suprising when you think of thier two major exports. Pedophilia and Chocolate. So think History boys meets Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with a little bit of Saved by the Bell.
Most afluent and with the best housing is Norway...No wonder they don't get iinvited to the G8
So what have we learnt today class? (pause) That's Right, Bullying is Jamie Olivers Fault, All Belgium teachers are pedophiles and are followed around by an audience and finally that nobody likes Norway.
For homework i want an Essay on 'Why Switzerland needs to get a sense of humour?'

Results after Results
So results day has come and gone. The Sleepless nights are gone (for now) and i can finally stop sweating over my place at Cardiff. I ended up getting 3A's so obviously i'm chuffed. I didn't expect to do so well. I was sure I'd blown sociology with a bitch of a last exam. Katie did amazing. Which means we'll be in Cardiff together for the next Three years. We'll probably even share lectures in the first year!! She got AAB. I'm so proud of her. She could easily have used her M.E. as a n excuse not to work and just give up, but she really did work so hard. I know how much she wanted it, how much she's going to love university. I'm just so Glad to be sharing it with her.
I got my residence off through. So i will be Living in Talybont North, house A, Flat 2, room 6. Katie's in the same place too but in house F which is really good because we're so close. Living at home we're not particularly far, but it's still difficult to get to her since i never got around to learning to drive. But in Cardiff it'll be perfect.
I had to be admitted to hospital on Sunday.... nothing serious, it turned out to be a Colon Infection. That's about as much detail as i'm going to give. I have to save what dignity I have left. Besides the less you know the more likely you are to have a meating with your last meal. They let me out this morning, but not before arming me with Anti-biotics. Which took an unnaturally long time for the to get together. I suspect they hated me and wanted me to suffer.....beacause obviously the whole world revolves around me ;)

Soooo it's the moment you've all been waiting for!
It's the Mid August Stupid awards 2009 - Croud Cheers - The nominees for this year are as followed:-
(please note: Nominees will be kept anominous for risk of incarseration for complete retardation)
1) Girl of 18 in an attempt to include her ill friend in celebrations suggests that an Indian and 'Drink' is the best option. Not only is it a very lame idea but this 'friend' is unable to eat wheat, dairy, sugar, yeast.... Commonsense would suggest that she can't eat fuck all from an Indain, let alone Drink. How Dull does someone have to be to think that was a good idea. Adding to the general stupidity was the attempt to dress it up as if she were trying to provide an event her friend could actually attend. It's blatently selfish and self serving. But in all honesty the last few months have led us not to expect anything different.
2) Every other sprinter except Bolt for actually showing up to the world Championships.
3)The Tory MEP puplically criticising the NHS and trying to persuade The USA from abandoning the idea.
.....And the winner is....(everybody leans forward) OPTION 1
(obviously this is just a rant i decided to dress up a little so no prizes will actually be awarded)
